In-Synch RMS - Version 4.6.7 released PDF Print E-mail

In-Synch RMS 4.6.7.7 is now available for general distribution.  This new version of In-Synch RMS is chocked full of feature requests and bug-fixes that our broad customer base has identified over the past few months. 

GENERAL

  • The speed of most modules has improved
  • The Syncher can optionally be set to run faster by bypassing the 'Checking for Invalid Dates' step.  The In-Synch RMS helpdesk team can turn on this option if you are experiencing exceptionally slow synch times.
  • We added a  'database switcher' that will enable you to maintain separate databases for Internal Affairs, mutli-agency booking, confidential cases, or any other sort of segregated application.

CALL LOG

  • Each call type can have a default template that auto-populates the Call Notes.  For example, you could have Suggested Operating Procedures auto-added for certain call types, or perhaps a standard-looking report format that has designated sections for officer-input.
  • If you are connected to a Dispatch system, you are accustomed to seeing the Dispatch Notes in the Dispatch Notes tab.  By double-clicking with your mouse on the actual Dispatch Notes, they will pop out into a separate window, from which you can cut and paste into other applications.

CASE BUILDER

  • Individual cases can be marked as confidential, only being viewable by the resporting officer or a specified group of users.  Confidential cases do not show up in any reports, admin review, Master Name Indexes, etc..  If you would like assistance establishing a security group for users who should be able to see confidential cases, contact the In-Synch RMS helpdesk.
  • In many of our NIBRS states, all of the data-entry fields that are required for NIBRS are now on one form.  Additional error checking has been added to most NIBRS states.
  • Page Numbering of the Case Reports has been fixed.

WARRANTS

  • Some new fields have been added to the Registrations module, including a 'Notes' field for Warrants.  Some agencies may choose to use 'Court Papers' instead of Warrants moving forward.

COURT PAPERS

  • This new module is a complete replacement for CIVIL PROCESS, and can be used to track details and actions against any sort of court-document - civil or criminal.
  • Fines and payments can now be tracked against particular payments.
  • A reporting engine lets you generate statistical reports for any actions against court papers.

PERSON MANAGEMENT / REGISTRATION MANAGEMENT

  • Significant speed increases.
  • Users are notified of significant historical events for a person by a flashing red box on the main person screen, instead of through pop-up windows.
  • Additional functionality has been added to the Master Name Index, including new tabs, and the ability to double-click on cases and calls to see the actual reports.  This functionality has always been in the Master Name Index, but many users did not know that additional options were available by clicking or right-clicking on individual items in the MNI.

LINKFINDER

  • The professional version of LinkFinder is now enabled for all RMS users.  This version features keyword searches, PDF searches, multi-agency searches, etc..

BLANK FORMS / FORM TEMPLATES

  • Blank Forms is simply a library of .PDF/.DOC/.OmniForm documents.  When a user picks a form, it creates a unique copy of that form and saves it in the agency's shared document folder.
  • Within CaseBuidler and PersonManagement, you can now create Custom Forms that are auto-populated with information from the Case/Person.  We use the free OpenOffice software to create these forms.  For a training session on how to create such forms, contact the In-Synch RMS helpdesk, and they can connect you with a trainer.

DAILY LOG

  • This new module lets officers record shift-related activities that may or may not be represented in the Call Log.  This simple shift-log can include weather, mileage, road-conditions, directed patrol notes, and a chart of activities that occured throughout a shift.
  • Supervisors can edit any Daily Log.  Officers may edit their own log, but view any logs.
  • A printed log is available.

Custom Forms PDF Print E-mail

The MobileSynchRMS development team recently added a Custom Forms feature to CaseBuilder.  You can now attach custom Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, OmniForm, etc. forms to a CaseBuider case.  After completing the form, it shows up in the Digital Documents section of the CaseBuidler tree-view, where it can be printed alongside the rest of the case documents when you're ready for prosecution.

 
Confidential Informant Management PDF Print E-mail

The new Confidential Informant Management  module in MobileSynchRMS allows your investigators to keep track of your confidential informants, attach them anonymously to cases, track notes and payments to CIs, and generate useful CI reports.  This module is available to all current customers through the latest release.

MobileSynch Subscriptions PDF Print E-mail

MobileSynchRMS is now being offered to the law enforcement community as a subscription service.  This is an alternative to traditional purchasing or leasing.

Basically, we remove all of the expensive up-front costs from MobileSynchRMS and give you the option of subscribing to the software on a low monthly, quarterly, or yearly payment schedule.  The subscription payments are similar to an average cell phone plan.  Through the subscription model, you have full access to all of your data through MobileSynchRMS as long as your subscription is maintained.  If you stop your subscription, you still have access to your data in read-only mode.

So, you don't have huge up-front or ongoing costs...this means "low-risk" from a procurement standpoint.

We have two versions of this subscription program.  

The SOFTWARE ONLY option allows you to put the software on an existing computer in your agency that meets our minimum system specifications.

The SOFTWARE AND HARDWARE option gives you a new laptop or desktop computer along with the software.  Every three years, you get a replacement computer from us.

With either option, we include a server and wireless router if necessary.

As a company, we're betting on ourselves.  We know that we won't make as much money on this plan unless you stay with us as your vendor for several years or you refer us to your neighbors.  We believe that we will continue to offer you unmatched customer service and product innovation and you will choose to stay with us indefinitely.

With the Subscription model, you get...

  • a complete copy of MobileSynchRMS with all of its modules
  • anytime/anywhere tech support
  • training and installation support
  • a server and wireless hotspot (at our discretion with 2 or more subscriptions)

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

A MobileSynchRMS sales representative can answer your specific pricing questions.  We offer two possible tiers of service.

The software-only tier gives you unlimited access to your data through MobileSynchRMS.  We will assist you with installing the software on any existing computer that meets our minimum hardware requirements.

The software-and-hardware tier includes the software pre-installed on a laptop or desktop computer, which we lease to you for the life of your contract.  We also install a variety of other software tools to protect your computer and enrich your MobileSynchRMS experience.

•    Full-access to your data through RMS software (read, write, update, delete records)
•    Data-sharing with other MobileSynchRMS Subscribers
•    Synching server and wireless router (with 2 or more active subscriptions)
•    Online web-based training
•    Remote Installation Support
•    Software Updates and enhancements for the life of your subscription
•    With the software-and-hardware option, a desktop computer with 19” monitor, or a laptop computer

We offer fee-based services for data-conversion, on-site training/installation, and customization.

Initial subscription terms are typically 36 months.  You may pay monthly, quarterly, or yearly installments for the service.

You will continue to own access to your data in a read-only format.  You will no longer be able to share data with neighboring agencies.  If you leased a desktop or laptop computer with your software subscription, you may return the computer to us, or purchase it at fair market value.  If we provided you with a server, you may keep that server after your first subscription term.  If you re-subscribe for another term, you will continue to have all program benefits, and we will replace your leased desktop and laptop computer(s).

There is an early termination fee equal to $30 x the number of months remaining in your subscription.  This reflects the cost of you keeping your server.  If you are leasing other equipment from us, you will return it immediately. 

If your leased equipment breaks, you may return it to the MobileSynchRMS Support Team at your cost via any standard shipping method.  We will immediately ship a pre-configured replacement computer to you at our cost.  Typically, you will have a replacement computer within 48 hours.  Once you receive your replacement computer, you may load other software onto it and continue using it for the life of your contract.

Once we receive your old computer, we will completely wipe your data from it, and send you a wipe-confirmation.  

The MobileSynchRMS support team is not responsible for software systems on your computer beyond MobileSynchRMS.  We can help provide web and phone-based diagnostic services, but any repair and recovery work remains your responsibility.
